WHAT WE LEARNT IN LOCK-DOWN
Under the threat of pandemic a year ago, all the world came to a stand still. It was extremely horrible a nightmare like thing. National, Multi-National Companies, Industries, Factories, Institutions, Organizations, Offices, Schools, Colleges were shut down. It affected financial budget of everyone. Economy of an individual and of all countries was badly affected. It was a tragic downfall from a great height. The world is facing serious consequences of lock-down period even today.
But it is truly said that adversities bring opportunities along with itself. Every cloud has silver lining. Lock-down period taught us too many things such as...
1. LIFE IS AN ADJUSTMENT
Life is an adjustment. When you earn money, you can purchase anything. You can travel to any part of the Country/Globe. You can buy eatables, clothes, medicines, but in lock-down period people lost jobs. There was starvation, malnutrition noticed everywhere. There were too many limitations. We learnt to adjust with each other. It was a life's lesson for us to understand the fact that life is an adjustment.
2. DISTANCE EDUCATION/E-LEARNING
As schools and colleges were closed, we started learning on mobile screens. It was new experience for us. There was no direct contact of teachers. It was online education. Lectures, Notes, Homework was shared by teachers. Exams were also conducted in online mode.
3. DIGITAL PLATFORM/SOCIAL MEDIA A NEW VISTA
We had no knowledge of making and using audio-visual aids. In lock-down period we could learn to operate mobiles, laptops, computers. Facebook live, videos on YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, Weblogs, WhatsApp and too many innovative, latest and advanced ways to update our knowledge and clear our doubts. It was multimedia learning resources.
We could understand the importance of distant/remote education. Live classes by using Google Meet, Zoom App, it was new experience for us.
4. BROWSING/SURFING INFORMATION ON GOOGLE/WIKIPEDIA.
Google /Wikipedia is the amazing source of knowledge and information. In lock-down period we could clear our doubts, update and upgrade ourselves, we surveyed /searched plentiful information on Google and Wikipedia. Before lock-down we had no idea how to handle technical things. Limitless wealth of knowledge and information is available for us on internet. It was a great journey to a different world. It is a wealth much greater than Kubera.
5. ONLINE COURSES & CAREER GUIDANCE
In lock-down period by using internet, YouTube videos we could learn lot many things like photo shoot, video shooting, photo editing, web development and too many short term courses /Add-on skills. Aspirant students started their innings of career by using online mode of education. We could learn using several apps. Online Purchasement, transactions, payment of different bills, cashless /digital payment. Staying at home we could pay visits to world class school, colleges, universities. We could learn downloading books. Copying and pasting, adding several features. Truly we become techno-savvy. The world is at our disposal at a single click.
INNOVATIVE WAYS FOR EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION
We could learn sending messages, images through WhatsApp. Voice message, Text message, video calling, Video Conference, Chatting, Conference Calls etc. We could learn several other things, recipes, Online Form filling. This is the knowledge out of box, out of books.
In lock-down period we could understand how to fight with virus. It was a war against virus. Home made masks, Sanitizers, Sacs, Home made medicine to empower immunity.
EARNING MONEY
As hotels, restaurants were closed, several people started small scale business. Home-made things were sold. Home delivery service was provided. Unemployed graduates started earning money through YouTube channels, weblog series. Hi-tech propaganda, Hi-tech Business Fundas were adopted to earn money.
7. DISCIPLINE
People started standing in long queue for vegetables, medicine, groceries, goods, vaccination. Unnecessary expenditure was avoided. Love, mutual understanding, co-operation, Humanity, Saving is Earning such things we could learn in lock-down period. In short, I would say that due to Corona whole world came to a stand still. But Corona Virus could not stop our education. We learnt different and innovative things in lock-down period.
