Say 'No' to Addictions, Temptation & Intoxication

*SAY "NO" TO ADDICTIONS, TEMPTATIONS & INTOXICATION*
- Sambhajirao Suryavanshi

Today's youth is reckless and irresponsible. Youths are supposed to be at school, college, study room, library, gymnasium, playground. But  they are rarely found there. Special efforts should be made for knowledge, information and skill development. One should strive to fulfill the expectations and dreams of parents. Obsession should become their breath. If each coming day is spent only in fun and mischief, tomorrow's future will be bleak. Driving the bikes at the wrong age,  wasting time unnecessarily in Social media. The question arises as to whether this is the only work. At the age when young people should have books in their hands, at the age when they should earn physical wealth, at the age when they should get good books and good friends, at the age when they should values, they get tempted to the unwanted addictions. Due to this addiction they are out of track. If you step on a wrong turn / road, obviously you will be at the loss of health and wealth. And by the time this is realized, time has passed. And so I want the youth to be enlightened. Today's youth is getting stuck in the trap of addictions. Many kinds of addictions, temptations, intoxications, temptations make them desperate and helpless. Their lives are being poisoned. Their feet are stuck in the mud due to momentary infatuation. They know that these things are bad, but they are attracted to them. Their situation is like that of a  stone gliding from hilltop to the bottom. This stone comes at the foot of the hill. It  cannot get reversed. This is the case with young people who are addicted to drugs. Once you step on the wrong path, there is no escape. If one does not surrender, then there is death.

There are countless reasons why people become addicted. E.g. Tension, stress, pressure, fear, for fun, for fashion, for imitation of elders, for false and fake reputation, because I am no longer young, because I am grown up, because others do, then why not me. Of course, drinkers need an excuse to drink. If the mind is not restrained, controlled, it goes astray like a wild animal. If the unrestrained and unbridled mind cannot be stopped, disaster is certain. Today's youth is so unrestrained that many wonder how to stop them. Addiction is done of tobacco products, drugs.

*1. Consumption of tobacco* - Consumption of tobacco has become common these days. It is clearly printed on a tobacco pouch /packet that tobacco is injurious to health. Yet the mystery of why it is eaten is beyond my understanding. The tobacco is taken in hand, limed, kneaded and its pill is placed in the mouth and then they go on spitting. Even if the eater feels nothing, the viewer feels disgust. If this addiction is not cured in time, it can lead to bad breath, mouth and throat cancer. A poison called nicotine mixes in the blood. The teeth in the mouth become lighter. The teeth become yellow and decay due to germs. When white teeth decay, decay and fall out, one must think about the negative impact it has on our health.

*2. Bidi - Smoking cigarettes*
Smoking bidi cigarettes is a very dangerous addiction. The lips of a person who smokes cigarettes becomes blackish. Smog  passes through the nose and mouth into the lungs through the trachea. Smoker may be suffocated. A person takes in oxygen through the nose and releases carbon dioxide. But look at cigarette smokers, when they inhale the smoke and release it through their nose and mouth, some of the smoke prevails in their lungs. This results in mouth, throat and lung cancer. It is clearly written on the packet of cigarettes that smoking is injurious to health. People like me face the question of knowing all this but why not kicking the habit.

*3. Drinking alcohol*
Alcoholics say that I got addicted to alcohol because of a friend. At first we used to drink beer. I try to quit alcohol, it just won't quit me. It does not occur to the person who drinks alcohol that it is not the alcohol that has brought him closer, but that he has brought alcohol  closer. So where does the question of quitting alcohol come? Alcohol is poison bought with one's own money. Drinkers are at dead loss. They lose health and wealth. In the Marathi play "Ekach Payala" by Ram Ganesh Gadkari, Sudhakar says, "Sindhu, if a man is going to survive, he can get survived by swimming seven seas and if he is going to drown, he can drown in a single glass full of liquor." Drinkers lose health, wealth and everything at last.

*4. hookah smoking*
Hookah smoking means blowing smoke through the nose and mouth. This is kind of scary. For a few moments a person becomes unconscious. I want to tell people who smoke hookah that by smoking hookah, you are going to die untimely. Try to know consequences and side effects on the mind, brain, throat, mouth and lungs. And once you're addicted, you won't forget that the rush of messenger of death is soon at your door. Addicts say I drink with my money. What does it matter if I drink or not? I want to tell such people that if you drink, you will die, but how much your family is hurt by your behavior and drinking. People around are also suffering.

*5. Eating Gutka*
Some people eat and chew betel leaves, vimal, star, gutkha, manikchand, mawa and many more things. They are spitting here and there. It is also undesirable to stand in front of such people. And the particles stuck in the teeth are also not cleaned properly by them. What a dirty and disgusting type is it? Such people spit here and there.  The mouth of such people is like a dustbin of garbage. It is full of odour and a bad smell. How can we act so dirty? I would like to tell such people that  Gutkha eaters will never stay safe from  a heart attack.

*6. Gambling*
Some people are gamblers. They  waste money and entire wealth in this game. Of course, this is an unreliable type of game. It is always better to stay away from it. Even if you win once or twice, this will finally make you bankrupt. This is a kind of trap and temptation. Your bankruptcy is inevitable. Always remember, my friends, that hard earned bread is always better than the black money or money earned through corruption. It is not good to squander your father's money. Parents earn money by working so hard and sweating for the same and you  spend the same money for gambling. Shame on you. You should be ashamed of yourself. You are a spendthrift. Parents work day and night  so that they can provide all your wants and needs.

*7. Online Chatting, Games*
It is a modern addiction that is enticing the youth of today. Youths are at a loss of time. They spend plenty of time surfing, searching and browsing. A lot of time is spent reading WhatsApp messages, text messages, audio video clips, emails, tweets. Neck down and eyes in mobile as if there is a gold mine inside. It is feared that bluetooth/headphones in the ear, will cause blindness, deafness, and muteness. It is stupidity  to  talk  on mobile phones while driving. There is no attention to the vehicles coming from the back and front side. Because of this, you are putting yourself and  others too at risk. Facebook is a network. The internet is a maze. Online chatting is a trap. This must be noted.

In short, you cannot experience happiness due to such addictions. Addictions can spread darkness in your life like a  moonless night. These kinds of addictions cause teeth to rot, decay and fall out, loss of appetite, numbness of the mind, loss of control over the mind. Throat, mouth, lung cancer occurs. AIDS, paralyzes. An accident happens. Maleness decreases. Premature aging occurs. There is financial loss. Blindness occurs, deafness occurs. Your image is maligned. You are defamed.
We have to suffer hellish torments. Untimely death occurs. Considering such adverse effects, I would like to tell you through this article that several side-effects and illnesses will take you untimely to the graveyard. Don't indulge in addiction as a hobby, fun, pastime, or fun. Instead, strengthen your body by exercising. Get knowledge and information by reading books. Develop communication skills. Cultivate a hobby that will make your life a paradise. May you all have a long life. The only modest hope is to make India free of addiction by staying addiction-free.
