A distinctive feature of Indian society is the strong family system and bond of love. Housewives, in true sense, do the work of maintaining the family system. Along with housework, housewives perform many responsibilities towards husband, children, relatives, guests, neighbors. Many women perform the responsibilities of housewives while managing their jobs and businesses. They handle stress tactfully. But disappointing fact is that the labor of housewives does not get the expected dignity in our social system. They do not get salary of the service towards everyone at home.
The housewife who wakes up early in the morning and goes to work... the housewife who feeds the tongues of everyone in the house... the housewife who looks after well-being and studies of the children, takes care of everyone at home. Housewife is the backbone of family. She keeps the house clean and tidy. Cleaning of utensils, preparing food twice in a day, baking bread, looking after kids and patient at home. Her job is multifaceted. She works tirelessly from sunrise till time of getting to bed. She prays for everyone. She takes care of the affairs of the husband and guests with equal enthusiasm... Some women do some part time, full time job to reduce financial problems. They take care and perform the duties of housewives honestly and selflessly. They are not paid for the service.
Every servant and labour get salary. Housewives work and service is nowhere paid. They are unpaid servants. But the labor of a housewife who treats everything as her own does not get dignity. What's more... This is her work, so those who evict housewives are also close to her. But one day due to illness she kept herself in bed... or sometimes she got very angry... or outcasted and then the whole house was in a state of shock. If she stops working, then how the rest at home get survived?
There is an impression that no one can take the place of a housewife. According to the saying, housewives work day and night for their homes. With the passage of time, highly educated young women are not getting job opportunities, but they are fulfilling the responsibilities of housewives. When the children get a little older, housewives feel that they should do something else, but again they prioritize the responsibilities of the home, and that is the fact that the home survives. A housewife who puts aside her education, degrees, dreams and aspirations and ambitions to work for her family deserves due respect. So, we must salute and give best wishes to the valuable contribution of housewives...
Servants get monthly payment, increments, promotions, Provident Fund, Gratuity and much more but why housewives are not paid salary? Why aren't Housewives given due respect and honour in our society? The tragic and most painful point is that neither husband, nor son / daughter, none at home is bothered about it. Woman is not a toy to play with it, it is not the thing to throw after use. Woman is not a weaker sex. Give due respect and honour at least to them.
